Admin Setup still a problem

I have read the entire threads and still don't have answers to my issues. I successfully installed osticket (have re-installed at least 4 times now) and the first time, i try to login to admin
a) I get a blank page: All the posts on how to correct this didn't work. In fact, version 1.6. RC2 already has the suggested changes incorporated such as editing the content of the main.css file.
b) Then I enable error display in so i can see what's happening. This points me to a line in mimeDecode.php which may not have a correct path. I set the path to the best of my understanding and the error seem to disappear BUT
c) when i login to admin now, i get a different kind of error:
Parse error: parse error in /home/httpd/vhosts/ on line 91

When I went to line 91 in mimeDecode.php to see what this is the entry I see:

class Mail_mimeDecode extends PEAR

Why is it gving this error on this line.

d) I get logged in all the same but some features of Admin Control Panel won't work. For example, when I try to configure a new email under "Add New Email", at the end of it, when I click on submit, I get two lines of errors:

Parse error: parse error in /home/httpd/vhosts/ on line 91

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imap_timeout() in /home/httpd/vhosts/ on line 53

As you can see, there is a new kind of error (Fatal error). I have gone into class.pop3.php to see what is there. All I can see is
imap_timeout(1,20); //Open timeout.

Is there something missing in this line that is causing that error.

Because of all these, I cannot configure the admin and cannot finalise the installation and get osticket working. Note that even as Iam logged into the Admin panel, there is this error on top of the page which means things are not running normal:
Parse error: parse error in /home/httpd/vhosts/ on line 91

I need help. I have spent at least 10hrs each day in the last one week (everyday) and its been frustrating. I have no knowledge of mysql, php or linux but i follow procedures carefully. Any help will be appreciated please.

  • I set the path to the best of my understanding ..
    What did you set it to? You probably set it wrong causing all kind of new errors.
