Problems Sending Email

I've just downloaded the osTicket's Latest Release, uploaded to the server and configured it. When I open a ticket to test the system, I noticed that the visitors/customers, do not receive the email with the ticket # and link for tracking purposes.

The email is returned with the following error message attached:

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

visitor@someemailaddress.com
Gid 32038 is not permitted to relay mail, or has directly called /usr/sbin/exim instead of /usr/sbin/sendmail.

How do I correct this problem so that the visitiors/customers, will receive the email after opening a ticket.

Please help!

Thanks,

ecisme

  • Since I'm no server expert I'm not sure what to do, but perhaps you can send this error message to your server administrator and see if they have an idea. It looks like osTicket has no rights to access the email send program.

Off course this won't aply if you are the server administrator yourself :)
