I've looked at the wiki for help setting up the system for use with an external mail server but it doesn't say much.
Maybe i'm missing the bulk of the information, but all I can find that seems to relate to what I want to do is:
Remote piping is useful when osTicket installation and the mail server are on two separate machines. To maintain logic in one place remote piping is done over HTTP post. osTicket ships with 2 scripts to help you accomplish this task; automail.php and automail.pl. Both accomplish the same task by posting to http://www.yourdomain.com/api/pipe.php(http://www.yourdomain.com/api/pipe.php)
Remote host IP must be white listed and valid API pass phrase required.
The system seems to be working reasonably well, it sends the new ticket open email to the admin and to the email of the user who submitted the ticket. The only thing is the email is sent out from the default for the hosted server i'm running it on, not "support@mydomain.com".
Where are some detailed guides to setting this system up. It seems perfect for what I need.
Cheers.
