I'm at my wit's end.
I'm using Sherweb for my hosted exchange (2007) solution (requires SSL) and bluehost as the web hosting provider so piping not an option.
I've looked at the class.pop3.php file and using the gmail ssl configuration... modifying my connection as follows:
function POP3($username,$password,$hostname='localhost',$servertype='pop',$port=0) {
$this->hostname=$hostname;
$this->username=$username;
$this->password=$password;
$this->servertype=$servertype;
//Set connection string.
if(strpos(strtolower($hostname),'pop.gmail.com')!==false){
$this->port=995; //overwrite the port;
$this->serverstr='{pop.gmail.com/pop3/ssl/novalidate-cert}INBOX';
}elseif(strpos(strtolower($hostname),'webmail.ihostexchange.net')!==false){
$this->port=995; //overwrite the port;
$this->serverstr='{webmail.ihostexchange.net/pop3/ssl/novalidate-cert}INBOX';
}elseif($this->servertype=='pop3') {
$this->port=$port?$port;
$this->serverstr='{'.$this->hostname.':'.$this->port.'}INBOX';
}elseif($this->servertype=='imap') {
$this->port=$port?$port;
$this->serverstr='{'.$this->hostname.':'.$this->port.'/pop3}INBOX';
}else{
$this->serverstr='{'.$this->hostname.'/pop3/notls}INBOX';
}
//Charset to convert the mail to.
$this->charset='UTF-8';
//Set timeouts
if(function_exists('imap_timeout'))
imap_timeout(1,20); //Open timeout.
}
I've tried IMAP SSL (993) and POP SSL (995) both with /ssl and /ssl/novalidate-cert as options on both. On a whim, I tried without SSL and it fails (as it does in outlook without SSL too). Can successfully log in with Outlook using the account/password I configured. Nothing has worked from this system's perspective. Per the man for imap_open command, I would expect one of these to work...
Unfortunately, my only complaint of Bluehost is the log files are useless, that is I can't get anything useful in the logs (via a web cpanel applet) it shows me nor can I see via SSH where are my PHP logs are going.
SSL is enabled in php as confirmed by a phpinfo dump I did.
What am I missing... any help appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
