[resolved] PHP error upon trying to install

We are receiving the following error when trying to get osTicket to install: PHP Fatal error:  Call to undefined function session_cache_limiter() in /usr/local/www/osticket/bootstrap.php on line 21

We've put the contents of the v1.9.3  upload directory into a virtual host location at address http://servername/osTicket.  When going to either that directory or http://servername/osTicket/setup, we get the above error.  I've tried putting the installation at the default root location to the same effect.  I have put the typicaly PHP info page at both locations as well, and the PHP config page does show up on the page, so I'm assuming PHP is working.  We are using FreeBSD 10, Apache 2.4, PHP 5.5 and MySQL 5.6.

Any ideas if the error is a mis-configured php.ini or Apache conf?  Or if we've missed something in the osTicket folder that we need to change.  I did rename the ost-config.php and make it full rwx to all users, also.

  • Stupid question, but do you have the php55_session module installed and enabled?
  • No such things as stupid questions.  That was the issue.  Showing my (apparent) lack of experience with PHP and building these things from the ground up, I completely overlooked installing the session module.

Thanks for the help!  Now off to test a new help desk.
  • @Ketchup nice question!

@distservinc I'm going to mark this as resolved and close the thread.  Please feel free to start a new thread if you have another question, issue, comment, etc.
