I used to maintain a couple mods and have since given up. My experience in the community is that people don't alweays post to the right place, and with so many posts I generally skim, assess, and attempt to reply to everyone and generally speaking I look at new posts not where the post is made. I usually reply with "There is no way to do this currently via the ui..." as a clarification that it needs to be a mod and attempt to give a secondary answer like say "Hey have you seen this thread?", and then lastly move the thread to the proper section of the forums. I'm not sure if there still is, but some people only ever read the Mods and Customization section of the forum, and generally speaking I feel that the people who do want to write mods or give back to the community frequent this area more than the other sections.I hope that answers your question. :)
