Hi All,
Newbie to osTicket here and the forum, so go gently for now anyway! ;)
OK here is my problem that I am sincerely hoping I can get some help with, as we are launching our Demonstration Site ('The AccessFinder')at a big Trade Show from 12th -14th June and I really need to get osTicket completed and also then personalised to offer our Help Desk / Support system. I have to say from what I have already seen from osTicket it is a phenomenal piece of kit and hence we want to get it working and put it to the great use it will provide for us and my website.
We have installed osTicket, got to the Installation / Setup page and managed to get it to accept the setup and install, previously it wasn't doing so and kept throwing us back to the setup page each time but used a different browser *1st was using FF* and voila that worked.
Then we were getting the following two issues and still are;
If you go to: (Help Desk)
you will see that it is live on the site and my domain, however we have <?=Format:($title)?>
in the browser title heading and also isValid()) {?>
in the top header section of the osTicket page.
Now I have read a previous forum post about placing the following in;
you can also add a .htaccess file with the following line:
php_value short_tags on
to you root dir.
I have gone to my sites file manager, then to public_html/.htaccess which it says is a "Apache Configuration File" but there is already lots of different content within this and we don't know where to place the above mentioned php_value short_tags on
as you will see below, we have tried the top part, is this right?
SetEnv DEFAULT_PHP_VERSION 5
php_value short_tags on

If I take out ALL of the above and just leave php_value short_tags on
and then save the .htaccess file, VOILA I get full access to the my admin of osTicket, however it creates an error when you try and view my main website.
So there you have it people, does anybody have any idea of how I can resolve the above and get both the user front end to not have the <?=Format:($title)?>
in the browser title heading and also isValid()) {?>
in the top header section of the osTicket page and for it to enable me full access to my admin section of osTicket whilst not placing errors on my site stopping access to it?
Any help would be oh so very much appreciated due to the deadline I need to get my demo site completed for the launch at the Trade Show this week. If anybody is experienced in osTicket and can assure me they are and would be willing to help me get past the above issues, I would be willing to create you ftp access to the required section of my files and also donate via paypal a small sum for your time.
Thanks for listening to the above people, I will keep my fingers crossed somebody reading this knows exactly the symptoms and the work around.
Take Care,
Rob
