I'm trying to install osTicket from these instructions: http://linoxide.com/linux-how-to/install-osticket-fedora-22-centos-7/The only difference was I used this to get the newer version: http://osticket.com/sites/default/files/download/osTicket-v1.9.14.zip(I already had apache and mariadb installed)I don't get any errors along the way but when I open this up in my browser I get just a white page. When I do the view source it shows no content.I checked the access_log for apache and I get this:192.168.118.162 - - "GET /support/index.php HTTP/1.1" 500 - "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0"192.168.118.162 - - "GET /support/ HTTP/1.1" 500 - "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0"The dreadful 500 error.Any ideas? Are there better instructions out there that I should be using?CentOS 7.2.1511MariaDB 5.5.47Thanks,Matt
My error log shows this: PHP Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: Permission denied in Unknown on line 0 PHP Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required '/var/www/html/support/index.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php') in Unknown on line 0
CentOS uses SELinux. Your permission error is likely caused by that. You can test by disabling SELinux. Also if you are running mod_security you can try disabling that also.
So I've tried installing and removing everything a couple times and no
luck. I disabled both firewalld and selinux. I don't have mod_security
running. Thanks for trying to help. It is possible you have another idea?
does the webserver user have access to the files?
Yes, Apache owns everything.
Hrm.TAke a look at this maybe it will help:http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/181177/apache-httpd-cannot-parse-php-on-centos-7
That looked promising but no luck.
ntozier - I appreciate all of the help but I think I'm going to scrap this project. This was for a research project and I was trying to install this on my schools virtual machine (I have root access). I'm hoping it's just something with my VM. I'm going to try and install osTicket on my work server instead. Thanks again for the help!
Very welcome. Please let me know if you get stuck.
