Issue: I'm having an issue where emails simply aren't going out. I can get them in just fine but when I reply and close a ticket the emails just don't send out anymore.
The way I have my support system set up is like this:
project one: support@domain1.com
project two: support@domain2.com
project three: support@domain3.com
etc.
Inside cPanel for each of these websites (domain1.com, domain2.com etc) these emails are all forwarded to support@mainproject.com
Then inside cPanel for "mainproject.com" I have support@mainproject.com being forwarded to: |/home/***mainproject****/public_html/support/api/pipe.php
i.e. like this: http://screencast.com/t/I3pCMyWma(http://screencast.com/t/I3pCMyWma)
I do it like this so that if people email support@domain2.com for example I auto assign it to Domain 2 department inside my support center.
Now my actual email addresses inside OSTicket don't have anything beyond what I assume are the basic settings:
http://screencast.com/t/BHtGgIOeb1(http://screencast.com/t/BHtGgIOeb1)
This above set up worked fine until one day... it didn't.
I use HostGator for hosting and asked them for help but eventually they just said this:
****************************
Hello, It appears that your OSTicket installation is currently using the php sendmail function to send email and this is what is not working correctly, however after attempting to change it to use the default SMPT settings for your server, it appears that the settings have reverted back to php sendmail and it is still not working.
I apologize for the inconvenience, however it appears that this 3rd party mailing script may simply be misconfigured, however the inability to reconfigure the settings that are currently in place is quite vexing and falls outside the scope of our normal support. It appears at this time that this is the only error causing the issues you are experiencing, as the email accounts for this domain appear to be operating normally.
****************************
I am able to send emails via Gmail (the whole send as "this email address" thing) so I assume the issue is with OSTicket
Any ideas as to what is going on here?
