[resolved] Unable to connect to MySQL server

I'm trying to install OSTICKET version1.10 on my web server.

As recommand in this page, after unzip the files, l copy the upload folder on a folder on my web server then l invoke the installer by entering this url on my web broser : http://mydomain/osticket_folder/setup/.
l had the installer page then l follow the instructions.
But when l reach page

osTicket Basic Installation

after filling all information and click on " continue buton" l have  this error :

Unable to connect to MySQL server: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock'

If someone can help.

Noted that l did the following on my webserver before start the installation:

- l create a database on MySql server
- l create a username and passowrd for this database.

  • This could be a number of things.  My first guess is that either you didn't setup the MySQL server, or do not have  the mysqli extension enabled in your PHP.

Following that it would either be that the mysql user you are using doesn't have access to the server, or you the user doesn't have access to the database you created.
  • By the looks of it, your mysql DB has crashed, consult your mysql logs in /var/log/mysqld. This error usually happens when MySQL did not exit cleanly.
  • Hello,

    I found the issue.

I did not put the rigth Hotsname, l leaved it to defaul( localhost).

When l change it it works, my system is install now and l'm making configuration.

    Best Regards
