Fatal Error: Contact system administrator when Encryption Key Was Installed.

Hi All,

I have installed and got working perfectly the OS Ticket System here:

I have just finished installing an encryption key and now i get the Fatal Error: Contact system administrator. encryption error when i load the page.

Can anyone confirm where in the source files the config file is force the https:// redirect or fix?

    I would recommend that you check your error logs.  I generally only see that when osTicket cannot get to the database.
  • Thank you for your reply. Where is the file that shows the location and user info for the DB? I can then check and confirm the info is correct. Also, where are the error logs?
  • The configuration file is at /include/ost-config.php

    I would have no way of knowing where you keep your error logs.  Location varies by OS and personal preference.

    Okay thank you. I have just checked the config file and all the DB are correct, they should be as the system was working before i added the encryption key and changed the url from http:// to https://

    Is there somewhere in the files that define the root url?

    If not, i will just delete the files and reinstall.
  • The only place I can think of where there is a URL would be in Admin panel -> Settings -> Help Desk Url.
    SSL is handled at the server level not at the application level.
