Email setup problem

Hi there,

I am trying to set up additional emails, however I am having a great deal of trouble.
I have tried both IMAP and POP and am having the same problem

These are the email details

and these are the settings I am putting in

I have triple checked the password I am putting in. I have even used a password generator and copied it in directly from there. I have changed the password a couple times to make sure.

Edit - I have also followed the Cpannel settings in this wiki http://osticket.com/wiki/Email_Piping

  • Please consult your php logs. It should have a more verbose error than just authentication failed.

    Have you installed/enabled php5_imap?

I should also note that you are running 1.6ST and posted this in the wrong section of the forums. I will move it for you.
  • Thank you for your reply,
As cPanel doesnt allow php error sharing I have had to go through my hosts.
They are currently checking it out.

I was also unaware that I was using 1.6.
  • Well let us know what you get from them for errors and maybe we can narrow down the cause.
  • I have it working now thank you :)
  • So what was the problem? :)
  • Im not sure, I changed the host to localhost and they suggested not using SSL as it was being used on the same machine.
