Osticket v1.10.1 (9ae093d) - LDAP Authentication and Lookup - UserPrincipalName

Hello all,

i've an Osticket instance that authenticates its users, via an Active Directory after installed the Ldap Plugin.

However it only allows me to use the samaccountname or email attributes as username.

I would like to know if and how its possible to use my userprincipalname attribute instead of samaccountname.

Example :

Current:
user: jdoe / pass: 12345678 (via samaccountname)
or
user: john.doe@domain.com / pass: 12345678 (via email)

Like to have:
user: jdoe@domain.com / pass: 12345678 (via userprincipalname)

Your help would be much appreciated.

  • You would have to alter the LDAP plugin to use that field instead.  I imagine that it woulnd't be too horribly difficult... assuming that AD will let you provide a userprincipalname for auth requests...
