Hi,there a way to set the osticket automatically offline when there is a mailsever error?
Also if the user's mail does not work what happens to the agent's reply? And, how the agent will understand that the user's mail has a problem?thanks
"there a way to set the osticket automatically offline when there is a mailsever error?"You can detect if theres a problem communicating with the mail server, but it'd probably be more difficult to actually see that the mailserver itself is operating correctly with a plugin."Also if the user's mail does not work what happens to the agent's reply?"The reply is still available in the tool if the user logs in there."how the agent will understand that the user's mail has a problem?"So the user does not notice that he/she is not receiving any emails and can't send any?It seems kinda hard to inform them about this predicament if we can't email them and i'm guessing the root issue is that they don't read their tickets in the tool so then how would they get informed?
1. user mail server error if the user mail return an error agent must be notified. All software mail client have the option "delivery receipt". Something like that i would be usefull 2. agent mail server errorin that case you can create a script and if the mail server not respond you shutting down apache server . the user when he try to connect receive error page. it will be more apropriate to see the offline page.
1. How should the agent get notified if we can't send emails?Admins can see in the system information if there are mail errors in the logs.2. I'm thinking hook on to the cron signal, send an email to a dummy email and then check the result, if we get an error then set = 0 and if it works = 1
