Error en piping de emails: execvp /pipe.php Permission denied.

Dear osTicket team,

I'm having some difficulties setting up email piping:

The mail.log is showing:

Mar  1 17:36:42 atc postfix/local[20535]: 19F0863023: to=<>, relay=local, delay=530, delays=530/0.01/0/0.01, dsn=4.3.0, status=deferred (temporary failure. Command output: local: fatal: execvp /var/www/html/osticket/api/pipe.php: Permission denied )

I'm using postfix and my "aliases" file has "abc-def" email alias:

abc-def: "|/var/www/html/osticket/api/pipe.php"

The file "pipe.php" has these permissions:

-rwxr--r-- 1 www-data www-data 917 Sep 14 16:23 /var/www/html/osticket/api/pipe.php

My system:

root@atc:/etc# uname -a
Linux 4.9.0-6-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.82-1+deb9u2 (2018-02-21) x86_64 GNU/Linux
root@atc:/etc# php -v
PHP 7.0.27-0+deb9u1 (cli) (built: Jan  5 2018 13:51:52) ( NTS )

Thanks in advance.

  • I do not use piping (and never have) so I would first refer you to the documentation:

I would also note that if you are getting a permission denied then something somewhere apparently doesn't have the right permissions.
  • Dear osTicket team, there goes and update:

I found here that someone setup a parameter in file of Postfix. So, I added at the end of

    default_privs = www-data

The result was positive in my mail.log:

    Mar  1 18:17:58 atc postfix/local[21022]: 8CA356303C: to=<>, relay=local, delay=0.49, delays=0.17/0.01/0/0.31, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered to command: /var/www/html/osticket/api/pipe.php)

However, the body of the message in timeline of the ticket says: (empty)

    What could be wrong?

    Thanks in advance.

    José G.
