We have PEAR email running on our server, running the latest MySql, php, and OSTicket.
We had a new tech starting. I created his account but misspelled his last name, which is also in his email.
I've since deleted that user account and recreated it with the proper spelling.
Once in a while, we will receive a message saying:
New ticket #858803 created.

Please contact your system administrator.
Now we are also getting a tickets from a ticket we have already deleted...
1) User submitted a ticket
2) sent a new message for the ticket
3) then the system continually sent the same message/note into the opened ticket.
4) We closed the ticket and that one message/note got emailed to the system some how and the system created a ticket with all of the same user information that the note came from and just had the note. It was listed as "an email ticket".
5) NOW, whenever that message/note comes in as a new ticket, another ticket comes in with the bad email message (above).
Hopefully that helps.
Oh and I've searched the database, the mis-spelled account name does not exist anywhere. We even tried banning that email account.
