osTicket User Guide

Is there any user guide on features of osTicket. It is required to share/educate clients and staff who are new to this.

  • It's such a simple system I'm not aware of one.

@ntozier I think this is the first time I've ever disagreed with you. :O

I agree that the client side is straight-forward enough.

But I've been using osTicket for about 10 years and I feel like I've only begun to understand everything that it is capable of on the staff end of the system.

I appreciate that the devs are busy writing code.

I see that osTicket has a "user-editable wiki system", but  it is pretty sparse and hasn't been updated in 4 years. It also appears that there is no way for a person to register to assist in editing the wiki. Am I missing something?
  • I agree that the Agents and Admins need one.  It's the Users who really do not.  (Which is what I was saying.)
  • What's the word on the wiki?

I was thinking that a user-editable wiki is would be the perfect solution and would be a tremendous asset. And then I realized that one is already in place, although in a state of chronic disuse.

  • I believe that there is a new version that I'm not supposed to talk about that is launching in tandem with the next version or 2.0. :)
  • That's good to know, er, not know (because no one told me).
  • Precisely! /shifty eyes
  • OMG @Grizly, you're right! And it's 1000x better than the one put forward on this website.
  • Well, the main one has all the install/setup instructions, which is where most people have issues, so it's the most mentioned.
  • The repo version is actually the newly launched
  • The new docs are amazing!
  • Yes, the new docs are fantastic!
