Me and my lead admin was talking this morning, and we have no idea how osTicket handles the autorespond emails and how it sends and receives. I did setup a domain account with user privileges, but I didnt associate the account with any type of exchange mail box, and we have mail relay turned off on the exchange. Within osTicket, mail diagnostic only works when the Authentication Required option is off, and since it worked I never wondered why until now.
So, how does it do it? How does the software have the ability to send emails from alerts, noreply etc. and still be able to reply to an auto response and the information be placed in the ticket?
