localhost is currently unable to handle this request!

Hello all,

I'm stuck at very first step to install osTicket.
I have IIS installed, PHP installed, MariaDB installed. Everything was installed from scratch perfectly with no error.
I downloaded osTicket, copy all files within "Upload" to "%windir%\inetpub\wwwroot\support"

When I got to:
The site will redirect to http://localhost/support/setup but then it cannot run anything:

The localhost page isn’t working

localhost is currently unable to handle this request.


I do have added "ISUR" group with modified permission.
Please advise,

  • Version of osTicket?
    Version of IIS?
    Version of PHP?

    create a file called temp.php.
    In it put

    <?php phpinfo(); ?>

    put the file in localhost. (aka your inetpub\wwwroot folder)

    Go to localhost/temp.php see what happens.

    Also you would want to look at your php.ini (probably in c:\php or c:\program files\php) and see where your php error logs are located at and take a peek at those and see if there are any errors.

    I have found the problem, it's because I used PHP 7.0.9. It was looking for "php_mysql.dll" and couldn't find it.
    When I change PHP version to 5.3.8 or something, it went through.

  • That would do it.  osTicket 1.9.14 doesn't support PHP7.  PHP7 support is in 1.10 once it gets released.
