Moving from Cloud osTicket to Self-Hosted osTicket (Mitigation)

I've many much data stored on the free trial Cloud osTicket..if I want to move to Self-Hosted osTicket, how do I transfer my data from the former to the later?

  • You would contact supportsystem.com support and ask them.  I presume that they would give you a export of your SQL database, but since I'm not them... you would have to ask them.
  • You will need your msql datbases (with root password they used if they were managing it for you. Then, I would create the OSTicket server that you want to use locally (same version as hosted version). Once created, use phpmyadmin to remove all tables from the database that was created on install. Use: mysql -u root -p
    mysql> use osticketdb;
    mysql> source database_backup.sql

    That worked for me; was able to create a new server run OSTicket v1.9.14 and restored it with our existing databases in about 40 minutes total.
