Escaping &lt &gt

recently I've noticed weird behavior  - I wanted to instruct customer to press combination of keys. I putted keys in a "less than" "more than" brackets - it seems like those signs are not properly interpreted as there is no key combination in the message (only "+" signs between keys in the combination), but the part of the message after key combination place is overstriked (a line through text appear).

  • My understanding is that the < and > are replaced and stripped out as HTML reserved characters.
  • Hi ntozier,

exactly that's the problem - by that replacement recipient gets malformed message.

The easiest way to reproduce this behavior is to write:

"Press <Alt>+<Ctrl>+<Del> to get a popup menu"

And you'll see that after saving/message sending, message output will look like:

"Press ++ to get a popup menu"

I hope that this explains thoroughly the problem.

    Thanks for the swift response.
