osTicket v1.10 (stable) and Maintenance Release v1.9.15 are now available! Go get it now

DMT "RISA": Responsive osTicket > Frontend Theme with SCP Interface is ready. Test it now!

"RISA" is the name for the base of a fully responsive frontend and backend for osTicket. At this point we have finished the work on the frontend. Now you can adjust the complete frontend design from the backend with just a few clicks. Just navigate to "Admin Panel" > "Settings" > "System" and you will see a new tab "Theme".

Do you like a header with your logo in your corporate color? Just click.
Do you like a clean theme with flat design? Just click.
Do you like a background image? Just click.
And many options more...

Having in mind, that the technic of osTicket is up to date, but the appearance not, we did a lot of additional work: reworked the css, integrated bootstrap, added additional redactor plugins, added additional page types, reworked the sanitizing and cleaning of html, removed the possibility for frontend user to edit the html code, reworked the design, integrated bootstrap support for pages and tickets, and a lot of more ...

Here you can see it live in action:

If you like to test the scp interface use the following credentials:
Username: JohnAdmin
Passwort: Z7DXa(@PuBMf

The demo page resets every 30 minutes!
We will keep you informed, when the first themes based on RISA are available in our club.

  • Do you have any details/documentation on how to install it for folks who are less technical?
  • If you have no modifications ir customizations it's easy: just copy and override the original files. That's it!
  • Hi Synt4xError, how did you actually download this theme? I could not find any link here :) Thank you
  • edited June 2017
I didn't, I asked the question so anyone that looks here will have a better understanding in the future. However, it states they will keep us informed when RISA is available, I am assuming it's not yet ready for public @amorel_ljsl
  • Oh, ok, thank you. Indeed it looks like it's still in beta testing :)
  • edited June 2017
@amorel_Ijsl: No, it's no beta. Have you tested the new interface and did you find any bugs? Your feedback is welcome. Just login in the backend with the provided user "JohnAdmin" above and try the new scp theme panel. We are working on a starter pack of 5 frontend themes, each can be easily adjusted in the backend to your needs.
  • Hello @DMTGMBH , please keep us informed when and where we can download the theme and congratulation about the good job you done! Thanks.
  • @Synt4xError @amorel_ljsl @tectron @ntozier @Micke1101 @ntozier
We have finished the work on our theme "framework" and now it's easy to adjust the frontend with just a few clicks to your needs in admin panel > settings > system > theme tab. The main features are:

Bootstrap fully integration: in frontend theme

Bootstrap partial integration: in backend and redactor (wysiwyg with bootstrap default theme)

Base theme: color schemes out of the box

Navbar settings: Fixed  or scrollable | Inverse or default Color | With or without logo | language dropdown or inline flags

Header: visible or hidden header section with logo, compatible to navbar fixed or scrollable

Background Images: for header and body

Corporate Colors: colorpicker for header, background, content and footer section

    RTL: rtl support

Prettify: content in <pre> tags is automatically prettified

Redactor: added fontsize menu, added inlinestyles menu, added bootstrap styles menu, added bootstrap components menu, allow classes and styles for defined tags, hide additonal functions on email templates, hide additional functions and code editing for frontend users, adjusted editor area auto sizing, update to 10.2.5

Footer Pages: additional page type with footer menu, ideal for imprint, policy privacy etc.

Bugfixes: special chars in pages url, translations for user templates like login, sanitizing, redactor ...

In the demo page all things above except the redactor modifications are intergrated now. We build up the instructions, sample content and sample accounts in German and English. My colleagues are preparing five incredible themes based on the framework which will be available in our club.

We are working on a free version in one color scheme, but without the theme customizer, as a small thank-you for the osTicket team and community. Many thanks for your feedback, hints and tipps.

If you like to test the scp interface use the following credentials and go to "Admin Panel" > "Settings" > "System" and click on the tab "Theme":
    Username: JohnAdmin
    Passwort: Z7DXa(@PuBMf

Gamble around save the settings and visit the frontend to see the effects.
    Any feedback is warm welcome.
    Have a nice day!

I am also interested in downloading / buying it
  • Sorry for my previous message, I was wrong.

I am also interested in downloading / buying it. How could I do it?
  • @arsonists: Sorry for the delay, the final version of our first theme "DMT Purify" is ready. We worked hard on sample contents and feature descriptions. You can test all functions as customer as well as admin here:

We look forward to your feedback to the new theme. From tomorrow "DMT Purify" it's available in
  • Perfect, as long as it is available, I will buy it

Freshly purchased the Purify theme, and faced a couple of prolbems. Need help.
Mainly I found some functionality dissapeared form admin interface (scp):

Original Osticket has the following(attached) translation selector (forms settings particulary), that dissapeares after uploading PURIFY theme.

Could you direct me to how to correct this problem, as we need to use multilingual interface?

By the way, I can not find any support forum link at DMT-club site.
  • @mokamobile: We are worlking hard on an update. Because of testing at 10 different internet service providers we remarked, that the basic unmodified installation of osticket doesn't run correctly at all, with the basic settings and different php versions. At the moment we are analyzing the returned data and will provide an update pack with an additional installation guide and hint and tipps. If you have further questions, don't hesitat to contact me by mail.
  • @mokamobile: We know it's frustrating, that small different server settings has so a big effect on osTicket. At a well configured server osTicket and DMT Purify is running absolutely correct. Here you can see the screenshot from our local development server and you see everything is working correct: Translation and ajax tooltips are displayed correctly:

  • Great, thank you for your interest. Could you recomment right settings to possibly avoid this problem?
Or, you could give me advice how to temporary switch off new formatting for SCP interface?
  • looks like guys from DMT forget about users right after purchase. I still did not receive any advice:
    1) recommended server settings for avoiding empty tooltips, getting back translation selectors, other bugs due to SCP interface changes
    2) no advice on possibility to separate SCP interface design from user pages design.
For now I can not recommend to use purify theme as stable and reliable.
  • still waiting for purify theme update as discussed....
  • me too, DMT does not reply on emails anymore. looks like 40 EUR down the drain :-(
  • Think it would be wise to make a post to their facebook, looks like it usually works...

    @mokamobile @ bijl

Hello, we found out that nearly all problems are caused in the server and local pc settings. There are various things that must be correct installed and setup, starting by the used php version and configuration on your server up to javascript version and the used browser on your local PC.

For example attached files in DMT Purify on local browsers

    Firefox Latest / Windows 10:
working well > pdf, mp3, mpg
    not supported > mov, mp4
generating error, but work by downloading > png, jpg, tif, bmp

Edge latest / Windows 10: working well > all files are offered as download, nothing is displayed in browser
Opera latest / Windows 10: working well > all files are offered as download, nothing is displayed in browser
Chrome latest / Windows 10: working well > all files are offered as download, nothing is displayed in browser

But depending on your browser and operating system version and settings the result may be completely different.

Some more problems are caused in used old libs and extensions by the core code. For example:

    jQuery v1.11.2 | Release Date:  December 18, 2014 >>> actual stable version 1.12.4 | May 20, 2016 > newest version 3.2.1  | March 20, 2017
    Redactor 10.2.2 | Release Date: July 15, 2015 >>> actual stable version 10.2.5 |  September 29, 2016 > newest version 2.11 | September 20, 2017
    fabric 1.4.13 | Release Date: December 4, 2014 >>> actual stable version 1.7.19 | September 17, 2017
    Select2 4.0.0 | Not available at github >>> official stable 4.0.1 was released November 28, 2015 >>> actual stable version 4.0.5  |  October 20, 2017
    JSTZ 1.0.4  | Release Date: December 18, 2012 >>> actual stable version 1.0.11 | September 5, 2017

Beside compatibility problems with actual servers and libs these old libs can cause errors in newer browsers, security issues and vulnerabilies.

More than a third of the websites you visit online may include an outdated JavaScript library that’s vulnerable to one or more security flaws. This is the conclusion of recent research carried out by a team of six scientists from the College of Computer and Information Science at Northeastern University, who scanned over 133,000 domains and found that 37% loaded outdated and insecure JavaScript libraries.

The inbuild jQuery 1.11.2 in osTicket has known XSS (cross site scripting) vulnerabilities that allows to inject arbitrary web script or HTML

We remarked, that many osTicket installations are not working correct, even if the installer says "It's all fine". The forum is full of issues of a none correct running osTicket after the installation.

To the end of the next week it's planned to release an optimized update of purify for the latest osticket version and a basic responsive version like our free ones, running at over 90% tested isps, without any additional functions.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but we wasted weeks of testing and fixing at different isps (internet service providers) and didn't get back a result, that allows us to create an installation and fixing guide, that well result in a well working osTicket at any isp.

In our opinion it's absolute necessary to update all outdated libs used in osTicket, enable theming/templates by core and to clean up all "doubled" functions, e.g sanitizing/cleaning html.

    Best regards, Jürgen
  • Thank you for your response.
Looking forward for the update next week.
  • edited November 2017
    Thanks, Jürgen
    And sorry for my impatience.
There was no replies from you, so I was not shure if to wait for something from you or search other solution. Now waiting for future update and hope we will break though this crasy obstacles...
  • Purchased yesterday and ran into a few issues myself. Glad you guys are working on it.
  • Yesterday we created an account with a separate hosting package on our server, did a clean install of osTicket 1.10.0, generated a customer account, created a ticket to test the attachment types and everything is working fine, all attachments are displayed correctly under Firefox:

To test the update package of purify live, we cloned the complete account and what should I say, the attachments are no longer displayed correctly under Firefox:

Feel free to login as customer and check it by your own in both installations:
    Username: MarkFischer
    Password: markfischer

We checked the database, server settings and environment, file transfer - all was identical. It's so frustrating for us, but we are still go on. At the moment we are checking the server logs and do a automated file and database comparison of both installations...

The good news: We have an update package for osTicket 1.10 and 1.10.1 that's running correctly on our local development servers. If we have found a solution for the cloning/copy/overwritting problem, the update package is released. Sorry, but it doesn't make sense to release a package that can cause problems by copy or overwriting.

Please check both installations above under your common used browser and
Firefox, create a new ticket, tell us your browser version and the result, this will help us fixing the issues. You can create your own account, too. Both installations will be reset on Friday this week.

Tomorrow we are doing the same with a clean osTicket 1.10.1 installation and inform you above the result.

We remarked that under different server settings, local browser and javascript versions it comes to conflicts with the implemented bootstrap library/functions by osTicket and our added customized one.

We have finished a responsive basic theme based on This responsive framework is working well together with bootstrap under WordPress and Joomla. We plan to send all subscribers the first alpha version via mail this weekend.
  • Google Chrome 61.0.3163.100 - - attachments work OK.
As to translation fields - not possible to check as password is not for admin interface.
  • @mokamobile: Thanks for testing. At the moment we are only interested in the attachment behaviour. All other things e.g. upload custom logo, translation fields for forms are working fine. At this point nothing in osTicket is modified, but the behaviour is strange only through copy, clone or overwriting.

That's the annoying thing: Google Chrome, Opera, Edge, Internet Explorer are all offering any attachment as download and working fine. If you try to open an attachment with Firefox, some mimetypes like images and videos are displayed in the same browser window. The first installation "original" displays all attachments in Firefox, the second generates an error "Damaged File".

Please check the ticket and attachment in both installations with Firefox, if possible, and report the result. We often have the problem, that osTicket doesn't behave in the same way in different browsers and with different local installed javascript versions and try to find out the reason.
