Mail connection after restore

I took a back up from the files and database and restore them in a different local server
the problem is after restoring the following error coming on all the pages
"Warning: mail(): Failed to connect to mailserver at "localhost" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set() in C:\wamp64\www\ticket\include\pear\Mail\mail.php on line 153"

I don't need the mail notifications or even registration
How can i cancel this feature and avoid the need of a mail server?

  • Turn off notifications in osticket.. then it won't try won't send them.
  • I cannot access any page
How can I turn it off on Database level ?
Or any other way other that the interface

  • Well, you didn't say that you couldn't access anything, just that you didn't want mail, so the warning message was removed.
Are you getting any actual errors in your logs? Something will probably say "PHP Fatal Error", followed by what's stopping it from working.

    i figured it out now
After tracing the code, the problem was Fatal error, connection to the DB as you said
I found out that the DBuser password cannot be empty with OSTicket

    Thanks Grizly
  • Huh, that's interesting. Glad you've sorted it out mate. :-)
  • "I found out that the DBuser password cannot be empty with OSTicket"

This is correct. It is viewed as a security concern.
