500 server error...can't login to Admin Panel

1. During installation we kept getting 

500 - Internal server error.

Although this error persisted osTicket appeared to install eventually (after about 5 attempts), but I get Access Denied when I try to login to the Admin Panel:

I KNOW the user name and password are correct because our practice at VisionSpring is to pre-record the username and password in a database and copy and paste from the database to the install program, to guarantee correct entry.

    1. Please consult your [unknown] webserver error log for what the actual 500 error is.

    2. I imagine that cutting and pasting a md5 + salt encrypted password from the database into the password field would never work.  Try typing the actual password.
