Editing a ticket with custom fields

I went through and added new fields to my ticket. And I can successfully add tickets and what not. But I cannot edit the ticket and change the fields. It submits everything, but will not submit the new fields I added.

Any ideas what I am missing?

Thanks!

    Are the new fields getting posted via the form? Does SQL know about the new posts/fields?
  • Hey guys,

    I want to help, but I don't understand your problem exactly..

    You add fields for tickets like in this thread:

    http://www.osticket.com/forums/showthread.php?t=873

    And then you can see the fields in each ticket, but the fields are empty?

    Or do you have the problem that you can't edit these fields like in this thread:

    http://www.osticket.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1095 ?

    Maybe you can describe the problem in detail...

    Thanks,
    Torben
  • i only have a problem with editing them through the edit ticket mod!

    The database has the field and when users make new tickets it shows in the database and all that. But when i try to edit it through the browser it gives me confirmation like the standard ones but it does not save/write it to database it seems!
  • ok, now I understand...;)

    Did you edit the ajax_editticket.php by adding the field you want to edit?

    Like that (for example the field: "customfield"):

    switch ($_GET['field'])
    {
    case \"name\":
    $field = 'name';
    break;
    case \"email\":
    $field = 'email';
    break;
    case \"phone\":
    $field = 'phone';
    break;
    case \"customfield\":
    $field = 'customfield';
    break;
    }
    ?

    Can you check that?

    Torben
  • haha,, i forgot that one:P

    Thanks! It works now.
