500 Internal Server Error

Hello ...

i have the following problem:

- I have a Strato web account
- I upload all files to my account and create a database
- I renamed the file "ost-sampleconfig.php" to "ost-config.php"
- I change every file and folder to "777" (only for testing)
- I run the webbased configuration setup and fill out all fields

Now comes the problem ... after i click the "Install Now" button i get a "500 Internal Server Error" page ... nothing else. When i look into the database the tables are created successfully but nothing else happens. when i go to my url again the setup script starts again. (But now with the error that the tables already exist)

Can somebody help me ...?:confused::confused:

  • Any way you could dig the error reported in the PHP/Apache log file? When the HTTP server gives you an HTTP/500 response, it should log the actual error in the server's log file. If PHP is running separately, like PHP-FPM for instance, the log file might be in a PHP-specific log file.

If you could get the actual error message, I could help direct you or correct the code.

    Cheers,
  • Sorry i don't know how to find these lof files in a strato account :( ...
is there any advice you can give me ...

i will look to find these files but i am not sure where ...
  • I'm not familiar with strato accounts. I would suggest using your favorite search engine to find something like "php logs strato" or some variation and finding some relevant pages.

    Cheers,
  • I found a log and this is the content:

    23.09.2013 16:04:15 xxx.de [client 217.224.237.162] Premature end of script headers: install.php, referer: http://xxx.de/setup/install.php
    23.09.2013 16:17:41 xxx.de [client 217.224.237.162] Premature end of script headers: install.php, referer: http://xxx.de/setup/install.php

Can somebody help me with this ...?
  • try re-uploading the file /setup/install.php to your site. It sounds like it was truncated for some reason.

Please do not hijack other peoples threads, your issue may be completely different than theirs. Please do me a favor and read our posting guidelines. Open a new thread, no one will help you here since you are not post author. Also, if you are using 1.7 then I highly suggest upgrading to one of the latest builds 1.9.x and 1.10. Not sure how many people have 1.7 installed anymore.

Please help us to help you by reading and following the posting guidelines located in this thread: Please read before requesting assistance. The more information you give us the better we will be able to assist you. Thank you.
