I decided to do a complete new install with RC3 as the upgrade did not change my version from RC2 to RC3.
After reinstalling and creating a new database, i setup a new user and email settings for pop3, enabled all auto responders, auto cron, pop3 fetch.
When I go into email settings to setup the pop3 mail box.
I get a "invalid login" on my password field. I can login into the webmail account with that login information and it works with no issues.
osTicket keeps saying that my login is invalid but it is putting in the password field? Should that say "invalid password"?
Either way the information is setup correctly and it used to work just fine with RC2 and RC3 it will not.....

I was able to get past the email pop3 settings not updating by rebooting the windows server.
The issue is that I do not receive any email alerts or customer tickets when they are created.
Log file shows they leave the server and get sent but nothing is getting received and I dod not get any email bounce backs.
Email has been an issue with this system in both versions rc2 and rc3.
I will continue checking settings but I am sure it is not my system but the software package.
i am also having problems in POP3 emailing.
I downloaded RC2 version few days back.........i enabled croncall, email fetch........my settings are saved successfully....I dont get invalid username pwd in both RC2 and RC3.......But my problem is i am not able to receive single email using RC2 and RC3........
Please! guide me what steps you did in RC2 to email work properly.........

Something with osTicket is really wrong in the pop3 section for rc2 and rc3. I tried to create a second site with my backup data to test the rc2 email functions and those are now not working. arrrrrrrrrrrrg.
Unfortunately I will not be able to give you correct settings on how it was working as now it is not working.
I did install smartermail and that does fetch and work correctly so I know it should be working but it is not working using osTicket rc2 or rc3.
Still waiting for a solution to pop3.
At the moment I can't say what is going wrong. Because POP3 is working very good on lots of different servers. So it does not necessary have to be osTicket what's causing the problem, off course it's also a possibility.
Did you try to debug the code? What I mean is taking it step by step untill you get to the part where it goes wrong in your case.
I did an upgrade from rc2 to rc3 and in the admin it still shows the rc2 version. Everything works fine, but that does bother me.
To fix, open the database for your installation of OSTicket and look for the _config table. You need to edit the entry for 'ostversion' to reflect the current release.

Hi Steve,
please look closer to the thread title the next time. This thread is about POP3 issues. You are talking about a known bug (see: http://www.osticket.com/forums/project.php?issueid=44)
