I'm trying to install osticket on Mac 10.8 server, running latest version of PHP, MySQL 5.5. When I goto servers website and to the setup page for osticket, it says I need to enable the short_open_tag in either php.ini, .htaccess or httpd.conf. I've only found this in the php.ini. Tried enabling and no success. Cannot find .htaccess. Any suggestions?

Did you restart the web server after changing the setting in php.ini?

Tried restarting the web server, no luck. Still unable to open the installer.

Make sure that stop the webserver. Make sure that you enabled it in the proper PHP.ini. to find out where your PHP.ini file is you can create a test.php and put the following in it:

<?PHP phpinfo(); ?>

Make sure you start the webserver first. (sorry abdout the punctuation and caps I'm on my cell on vacation)
