I have the osTicket 1.6 installed fresh on my server. The only thing that not works is the POP and SMTP email settings. I have set everything correctly at E-Mail -> SMTP (with authentication and accesscodes), but I get the following error in the system: Send e-mail is not possible smtp.domain.de:25 [user] Validation failed for: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?"Name=20-=20S?==?ISO-8859-1?Q?up?= =?ISO-8859-1?Q?port"<info@name.d?= =?ISO-8859-1?Q?e>?= And about POP: unfortunately I know nothing with the word "cron job" to start and how do I activate it. I get there the following errors: Unable to create selectable TCP socket (1790> = 1024) Thank you for the help! :-) |

This is a problem when your shared host has more than 1024 open files, there is nothing you can do about it. I am currently looking for an alternative to osticket due to this issue. |

@R1chy,
A lot of webhosts allow you to utilize custom php.ini files in your web root. Most of them also have the imap extension enabled by default. Although its called php5-imap it is also required for POP. The name is a little misleading. @blanik, This is a PHP issue, not an OSTicket issue, so I'm not of the opinion that switching to another web based php/mysql solution wouldn't solve it for you. @both, My OSTicket implementations are installed on a dedicated webserver that the company I work for hosts internally. This might solve your problems also, if you have system administrative skills. This server doesn't need to be anything really special you could run it off a 2Ghz pentium with 1gb of ram and a 120gb hard drive if you had to. [I did for about a year.] |
